How much your licence costs
You pay a one-off application fee when applying for a licence. You also pay annual levies. If you want to suspend your licence, you pay an annual fee.
To apply for your licence
It costs $939.55 (including GST) to apply for a licence. If your application is declined, we’ll refund your levies but not your application fee.

To renew your licence
You pay two levies each year before your licence expiry date. Your licence will be cancelled if your levies aren’t paid.

You pay a fee to put your licence on hold (suspend your licence). You’ll pay this fee each year you have your licence suspended. We refer to this as an annual suspension fee.

How to pay
You can pay by credit card (Visa or MasterCard) or internet banking via the licensee portal.
We cannot accept payments by phone.
Manual processing
Individual licence applications, renewals, and suspensions should be made via the licensee portal. If you are unable to use the licensee portal, you can manage your licence manually. There is a $28.75 (including GST) processing fee for all manual applications, renewals and suspensions. Please contact us for a copy of the appropriate form and we will email it to you.
Company licence applications are made manually but there is no processing fee for these.
Invoices and documents
You can find copies of your invoices, evidence of licence and other licensing documents when you log into the licensee portal.
When you have logged in, click ‘Documents’ in the top bar, located under the green ribbon. If you are in a different section of the portal, you will first need to click ‘Update details’ then select ‘Documents’ in the subheading.
Please note that your invoice will be generated within 24 hours of completing a licensing application.
If you’re looking for documents for a company, click ‘Update Agencies’, select the applicable company, then click ‘Documents’.

We'll issue a refund if you upgrade to a higher class of licence
When we’ve approved your higher class of licence, you may want to complete a notice of voluntary surrender for your original licence and send it to us.

If you paid for the original licence by internet banking or cheque, please attach a deposit slip for the account the payment was made from. There is no need to do this if you paid by credit card.
We’ll calculate the amount of the refund and process it within 20 days.
We issue refunds based on the part of the year the licence isn't used.

We'll issue a refund if a licensee dies
A member of the licensee's family needs to give us:
- a copy of the death certificate
- a bank deposit slip showing the account of the estate we need to pay the refund into
- a copy of:

the section of the will that identifies the appointed executor, or
-
a copy of the power of attorney that appoints the person requesting the refund as executor, or
-
a completed statutory declaration (please contact us for this).

We'll calculate the amount of the refund and process it within 20 days.
We issue refunds based on the part of the year the licence isn't used.

When we don’t issue a refund
- You suspend your licence (put it on hold).
- You surrender your licence (give it up permanently).
- We cancel your licence.
